Calinog appliance store loses P241T cash to burglars

ILOILO City – Unidentified burglars stole thousands of pesos worth of cash from an appliance center in Barangay Poblacion Ilawod, Calinog, Iloilo.

Police have yet to identify as of press time the robbers who barged into Mega Homes Shopping Center.

Appliance center personnel discovered the burglary when they opened the store at around 6:57 a.m. Tuesday.

Initial investigation showed the establishment lost P241,000 cash. An inventory of the appliances is still ongoing as of this writing.

The suspects damaged the roof and the ceiling to gain entry, police said.

Investigators were considering “inside job.”

The suspects must have known a huge amount of cash was being kept inside the store, said Senior Superintendent Marlon Tayaba, provincial police director.

Police recovered a pair of pliers and a pair of men’s sandals from the store.
