Character actor ‘Bangkay’ passes away at 71

CHARACTER actor Nonong de Andres, who is popularly known as “Bangkay,” has passed away Tuesday morning, Nov. 6.

This was confirmed by his relative, Powee Capino, via social media.

“Please pray for the eternal repose of the soul of my Tito Nonong who passed away early this morning. He is more popularly known as “Bangkay” in horror movies and “Bangky” in Forevermore,” Powee posted.

“This is aside from the hundreds of movies and TV appearances he was in throughout his acting career. He was 71,” the post added.

The cause of death is not yet revealed as of this writing.

Nonong is a regular fixture on horror movies. He appeared on ABS-CBN shows like Forevermore, Ang Probinsyano and Bagani.
