The Iloilo City Government recognized four topnotchers of West Visayas State University in the Agriculturist and Forester Board Examinations.
Mayor Jose Espinosa III gave certificates of recognition and medals to Francis Ben Berja and Melissa Suganob who were Top 2 and 4, respectively, in the Forester Board Examination in September.
Niko Mambusada and Rolly Amion were Top 4 and 5, respectively, in the Agriculturist Board Examination in June.
Berja received P5,000 while Mambusada, Amion, and Suganob received P3,000 each. “We hope the topnotchers will serve as role models to the youth to do well in their studies because if you are just studying well, there is no reason for you not to achieve your dreams,” Espinosa said.
Berja said his focus and dedication during the review paid off.
Suganob said although forestry is not a well-known course unlike others, she did not feel any discouragement in pursuing it.
Mambusada said he plans to help the government in safeguarding food security.
“It is an honor for us to be given such recognition by the City Government,” said Mambusada. He added that he reviewed and prepared well for the board examination since it was his dream to be a topnotcher.
Amion did not expect to top the test.
“I only dreamt to pass the examination and it really surprised me that I was included in Top 10,” Amion said.
