City gov’t recognizes outstanding employees

THIRTY-SIX Iloilo City government employees received praise for their outstanding performance and services rendered during the flag-raising ceremony at the City Hall on Sept 24, 2018.
Mayor Jose Espinosa III led the awarding ceremony where the awardees received cash incentives, medals, and certificates.
According to Espinosa, the awardees have undergone screening and were recommended by their respective department heads.
“Per department ang pag-hatag ta sang award para ma-spread ta ang recognition ta sa empleyado. Ginalantaw ta ang ila performance and aside sa nag-create sang over-all committee nag-base man sila sa ginrekomenda sang mga department heads,” said Espinosa.
Aside from the awardees from the different departments, two employees were also recognized for their services rendered in the city government.
Dr. Tomas Forteza Jr, who has been city veterinarian for 23 years, and Cynthia Trespeses, assistant city accountant for 18 years, received the Service Awards.
Meanwhile, Iloilo City Anti-Smoking Task Force (ICAST) Director Iñigo Garingalao also received a special citation because of his achievement during the 2018 Honor Awards Program of the Civil Service Commission.
Garingalao was among the 13 public officials and government employees that were awarded by the Civil Service Commission of the Philippines (CSC)-6 for their accomplishment and contribution in public service on September 6 at SM City Iloilo.
He was recognized as “Dangal ng Bayan” Regional Winner and National Semi-Finalist of the 2018 Honor Awards Program of the CSC for his programs and campaign on anti-smoking in the city.
Mayor mentioned that the awardees will serve as role models to their fellow employees.
“Mangin example sila on what a good employee should do nga kinahaglan may initiative ka sa ginaubra mo and responsable ka sa imo ulubrahon bilang empleyado sang siyudad,” he noted.
