The spirit of Christmas comes alive in the entire campus of Central Philippine University (CPU) with the celebration of the 2018 Festival of Lights and Music.
The festival kicked off on Dec. 7 with the ceremonial switching on of lights.
Thousands of sparkling multi-colored lights illuminated trees and school buildings.
Senator Sonny Angara led the lighting ceremony, which was followed by a spectacular fireworks display.
He said he was “very happy” to be part of the celebration in Iloilo City.
“It’s a beautiful ceremony. May session kami sa Manila but I rushed here to experience this special moment.”
Aside from beautiful views, the public is also expected to enjoy carnival rides, food stalls, and live music.
This year’s theme Celebrating the Light of Life “highlights the birth and coming of Christ as the hope, salvation and joy of mankind.”
The campus will remain lighted until the Yuletide season ends.
