Fake EID scares Ateneo de Iloilo students, teachers

Classes at Ateneo de Iloilo in Mandurriao district, Iloilo City on Tuesday, Oct. 2, were disrupted by a bomb scare.

Students and faculty members were ordered to vacate the school premises at around 11 a.m.

This after a suspicious object that looked like an improvised explosive device (IED) was found near Gate 2 of the school.

The Explosive Ordnance Division (EOD) of the Police Regiina Office (PRO-6) rushed to the area.

After conducting a disrupting process, members of the EOD found out that the object had no explosive component.

“Ang itsura nya like EID pero fake sya. Hungod sya nga ginhimo para magpahadlok,“EID’s Reman Benobo said in a press conference.
