Archipelago Philippines Ferries Corp. (APFC), a shipping company, has transferred its operations to Barangay Progreso, Lapuz district, Iloilo City.
The FastCat operator is serving the Iloilo City-Bacolod City-Iloilo City route.
APFC chief executive officer Christopher Pastrana, during the ceremonial blessing of their new port location on Tuesday, Sept. 19, said their “state-of-the-art” vessel provides its passengers with “safer and more comfortable” sea travel.
He thanked the Ilonggos for patronizing FastCat.
According to Pastrana, they registered some 320,000 inbound and outbound passengers last year.
APFC started its operation in Iloilo City in 2015.
Mayor Jose Espinosa III said the operation of FastCat has been contributing to the city’s progress.
He is hoping that more vessels will operate in Iloilo City to cater to the increasing number of visitors in the metropolis.
FastCat currently has four round trips daily. “We have a target of increasing the number to eight per day next year.,” Pastrana said.
