ROXAS CITY, Capiz – Is Capiz Governor Antonio del Rosario persistently ignoring recommendations of barangay officials seeking financial aid from the provincial government?

The issue came out following the purported ignored recommendation of Punong Barangay Ruben “Godo” Fuentes of Barangay 3, afternoon of Sept 25, 2018.

Another question is why did the governor ignore the orders of former senator and interior and local government secretary Manuel “Mar” Roxas II?

Fuentes said he was embarrassed after the office of the governor did not act on his letter seeking financial assistance.

The village chief said that the person who sought the assistance went back to him and cried because of the ignored request.

“The consultative meeting was useless because what has been transpired and agreed upon was never happened,” Fuentes said adding that Roxas was also placed in a bad light.

For this reason, Fuentes vowed not to seek assistance from the office of the governor.

On Sept 24, 2018, Roxas instructed Del Rosario during a consultative meeting to accommodate the request for financial assistance coming from the village chiefs of Roxas City who were identified as “political enemies.”

The consultative meeting aimed to iron out the differences between the governor and the 38 villages of Roxas City who are identified with Mayor Alan Celino.

In the 2016 elections, 38 village chiefs signed a manifesto withdrawing support from Del Rosario should he run for any elective position.

The village chiefs who signed the manifesto were later ignored every time they ask for financial help from the Capitol.
