Based on multiple weather monitoring sources, and the latest Severe Weather Bulletin #13 of PAGASA, Typhoon Ompong will be making landfall in the Cagayan – Isabela area early morning of 15 September 2018, bringing with it potential high rainfall (>350mm) in 24 hours in the Luzon area, while interaction with the Southwest Monsoon will potentially bring occasional moderate to heavy rainfall in the Visayas area.
Western Visayas particularly Iloilo City is not placed under a tropical cyclone warning signal. Thus, for the proper guidance and information of everyone concerned, I leave the discretion to suspend classes or school-related activities tomorrow, September 15, to the different school administrators.
Our CDRRMO continues to monitor weather updates through DOST PAGASA and other related warning agencies on the weather conditions. Our Operations Center (OpCen) can help facilitate the information dissemination. You can send your announcement to iloilocitydrrmo@gmail.com. May we all work together for the safety of our people. Stay safe everyone!
