Mocha Uson seeks to ‘make noise’ in House

Duterte aide Bong Go running after all, eyes Senate

Former Presidential Communications Operations Office assistant secretary Margaux “Mocha” Uson.

MANILA – Margaux “Mocha” Uson did not want to run for senator in the 2019 midterm elections.

She did not want to join several allies of President Rodrigo Duterte already eyeing Senate seats.

The former presidential communications assistant secretary instead wanted to be part of the House of Representatives where she intends to “make noise.”

“Bubulabugin natin ang Kongreso,” Uson said on Monday as she filed her certificate of candidacy (COC) for party-list representative at the Commission on Elections office in Intramuros.

A former Malacañang official, the blogger and staunch Duterte supporter will run as a nominee for the AA Kasosyo party-list.

Meanwhile, Special Assistant to the President Christopher “Bong” Go filed a COC for senator despite earlier announcing that he has no plan to seek an elective government position.

Uson was grateful that AA Kasosyo accommodated her even if she will be espousing the rights of immigrant workers – a far cry from the party-list’s advocacies for farmers.

“Advocacy ng (AA Kasosyo) ay sa farmers,” she said. “Pero ako, dinadala ko ang adbokasiya na bigyan ng boses ang mga OFW (overseas Filipino workers), bigyan sila ng kabuhayan at sariling negosyo.”

Already Uson was targeting a group of representatives she will have to work with if she wins the election.

“Tanggalin na iyang Makabayan bloc na iyan,” she said. “Tanggalin na ang mga komunista na sinasabi ni Mayor Inday (Sara Duterte of Davao City) na terrorist sympathizers.”

Uson expressed intent to join the election after announcing that she has resigned from the Presidential Communications Operations Office to ensure the swift passage of the office’s budget.

Meanwhile, Go – asked how he feels now that he is seeking an elective post – said, “Nalulungkot ako dahil mahihiwalay sa tabi ni Pangulong Duterte.”

He added: “Madami akong natutunan sa paglilingkod ko kay Pangulo at iyon ang gagamitin ko sa Senado.”
