New Iloilo Freedom Grandstand nears completion

The new and bigger Iloilo Freedom Grandstand is now nearing completion, according to the City Engineer’s Office (CEO).


Engineer Jose Cloyd Grecia of CEO, in an interview on Monday, Nov. 26, said the P45-million grandstand along Muelley Loney Street is already 70 percent complete.


“Mga third or last week of December this year dapat ara na kami sa 90 to 95 percent. Functional na ini sya kon maglab-ot sa 90 percent,” he told IMT News.


The project, started in April this year, is being undertaken by contractor F. Gurrea Construction, Inc. (FGCI ).

He assured that the grandstand, which can accommodate about 4,000 people, will be fully functional ahead of the celebration of the 51st Dinagyang Festival slated on January 25 to 27, 2019


The old grandstand on JM Basa Street was demolished to pave the way for the restoration of the Sunburst Park.
