The Police Regional Office in (PRO-6) assured that police stations, particularly those in high-risk towns, are prepared for any untoward incident.

In a media interview Monday, Supt. Joem Malong, PRO-6 spokesperson, confirmed that Chief Supt. John Bulalacao, regional director of PRO-6, personally inspected various municipal police stations in Iloilo province over the weekend.

These are the police stations in the towns of Igbras, Tubungan, Alimodian and Leon.

“He (Bulalacao) wanted to see to it that our personnel are ready,” Malong said.

According to her, an NPA (New People’s Army) retaliation is possible after the recent incident in San Jose, Antique where seven alleged members of the rebel group were killed in a clash with government troops.

“That is why we are really (beefing up) the security operations in the different areas, especially those vulnerable to attacks,” she said.

Bulalacao reminded police personnel to be “ready anytime”.

“They should memorize their defense plan. In case of any emergency or atrocity, they should be ready to respond and aside from that, they should have the will to fight,” she said.

Other high-risk towns in the province are Bingawan, Calinog, Guimbal, Janiuay, Lambunao, Lemery, Maasin, Miag-ao, San Rafael, San Joaquin, and Tigbauan.
