TROPICAL CYCLONE: WARNING ISSUED AT 5:00 AM, 22 November 2018
TROPICAL DEPRESSION "SAMUEL" HAS MAINTAINED ITS STRENGTH AS IT MOVES OVER THE WEST PHILIPPINE SEA.
• Tropical Cyclone Warning Signal (TCWS) #1 over Cuyo Island has been lifted.
• Moderate to heavy rains, which may trigger flooding and landslides, are still expected over Palawan including Calamian Group of Islands. Residents of these areas, especially those living near or in river channels, low-lying and mountainous areas, are advised to take appropriate measures, coordinate with local disaster risk reduction and management offices, and continue monitoring for updates.
• Fisherfolks and those with small seacrafts are advised not to venture out over the seaboards of areas under TCWS #1, as well as the northern and western seaboards of Northern Luzon. • “SAMUEL” is expected to exit the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) between this evening and Friday early morning.
Location of eye/center At 4:00 AM today, the center of Tropical Depression "SAMUEL" was estimated based on all available data at 90 km North Northwest of Puerto Princesa City, Palawan (10.5°N, 118.5°E).
Strength: Maximum winds of up to 45 km/h near the center and gustiness of up to 65 km/h.
Movement: Moving West at 25 km/h.
