Social Security System personnel attend to the concerns of Iloilo City residents via the city government’s community outreach program “Pag-ulikid Sang Syudad.” SSS has joined the program “to make the people even more aware of our services and programs,” says Marivic Gonzales, SSS Accounts head.

ILOILO City – The Social Security System (SSS) has joined the city government’s community outreach program “Pag-ulikid Sang Syudad.”

“We aim to make the people even more aware of our services and programs,” said Marivic Gonzales, SSS Accounts head.

“Pag-ulikid” brings government frontline services for free to city residents such as dental and medical checkup, issuance of identification cards for senior citizens, dog anti-rabies vaccination and neutering.

“The SSS management appreciates the effort of Mayor Jose Espinosa III in bringing the city government’s programs and services to the barangays, that is why we have decided to join the ‘Pag-Ulikid’ program,” said Gonzales.

During “Pag-ulikid”, city residents who want to avail themselves of SSS services just have to bring their birth certificates, marriage certificates and a valid identification card.

“We will also cater to inquiries or clarifications,” said Gonzales.

The services offered at the main office of SSS would be brought to the barangays such the following:

* retirement benefit

* death benefit

* funeral claim

* availment of sickness benefit

* maternity benefit

* registration for SSS membership, among others.

Just last week, the city government introduced to “Pag-ulikid” free civil weddings officiated by Mayor Espinosa himself.

Other “Pag-ulikid” services are the issuance of solo parent identification card, marriage certificate and birth certificate, and free legal services.

Free wheelchairs for persons with disabilities and the elderly and sports equipment to the youth are distributed, too.

Meanwhile, over 6,300 more residents were served by “Pag-ulikid” over the weekend in four barangays. These were the villages of Navais, Madurriao district (over 1,500 beneficiaries), Guzman-Jesena, Mandurriao (over 1,000), Buntatala, Jaro (over 2,500), and Quezon, Arevalo (over 1,300).

In Barangay Quezon, Arevalo 16 couples were married by Mayor Espinosa while one couple tied the knot in Barangay Buntatala.
