THE mascot of Mayor Jose Espinosa III will serve as a symbol of the city government’s anti-drug campaign.

Espinosa said the mascot will help reach the children in the anti-drugs campaign.

Ang mascot is for easy connection para sa mga kabataan and para ma-catch man ilaattention,” he said.

“Tito Joe”, a mascot of the mayor wearing blue collared shirt and eye glasses, first appeared at the Iloilo City Hall on August 22, 2018.

“Tito Joe” also participated in the different activities in the recently concluded 81st Iloilo City Charter Day Celebration.

Anti-drugs campaign is one of the priority programs of the city, Espinosa added.

He said that his program, “Utos ni Presidente, Utos ni Mayor: Just say no to drugs” will reach out not only the aspect of sports but also education.

According to Espinosa, the mascot will tour different schools in the city to campaign against illegal drugs.

“May team kita na malibot kag mag-campaign sa mga eskwelahan. Ma-saot ang mascot and may lectures about problema nga ginadala sang drugs,” he noted.

The city government will start educating the children on drugs to ensure the campaign’s effectiveness, Espinosa added.

“Ibutang na naton sa system nila nga illegal drugs will not do anything good.”
