ILOILO City Administrator Atty. Hernando Galvez denied allegations that politics is behind the move of Mayor Jose Espinosa III to recall ten City Hall workers detailed to the office of Rep. Jerry Treñas.
“Ang aton na is a continuing process. We need them here sa city hall,” Galvez said.
Both Espinosa and Treñas are running for mayor in the May 2019 polls.
According to the city administrator, the reassignment of employees is part of the administrative process.
“Ang pag-detail kag pagre-assign is part na siya sang administrative process. Under the law ang detail should not be more than one year and kung nagsubra sila, they should be asked why,” he added.
On October 25, 2018, Espinosa issued a recall order to the ten regular employees working under Treñas.
The employees are Lilanie Ticzon (City Social Welfare and Development Office or CSWDO), Marne Tecson (CSWDO), Elizabeth Ventura (Public Safety and Traffic Management Office), Ruel Patnubay (City Planning and Development Office), Lucia Modina (General Services Office or GSO), Gina Villarosa (GSO), Aaron Hope Guanzon (GSO), Suzzette Billones (GSO), Narciso Pueblo Jr.
(GSO), and Godofredo Bergantino (City Engineer’s Office). They have been working in Treñas’ office since 2010.
After receiving the recall order, some of the employees took a leave of absence, according to Galvez.
“Depende na kon aprobahan sang ila department head. In the past sang pagsulod ko di, na-alarma ko kay we have plenty of employees nga pati ila title wala naga-santo sa siyudad. That is why we are proposing changes na madula na ni sila,” he noted.
