SEVERE WEATHER BULLETIN #4 FOR:Tropical Storm #KardingPh

Tropical Cyclone: ALERT


ISSUED AT:11:00 PM, 08 August 2018


#KardingPh HAS MAINTAINED ITS STRENGTH AS IT CONTINUES TO MOVE EAST-NORTHEASTWARD.


#KardingPh is not expected to make landfall in any part of the country.

Meanwhile, at 10:00 PM today, the Low Pressure Area (LPA) over the West Philippine Sea was estimated at 850 km West of Northern Luzon (17.1°N, 112.4°E) (OUTSIDE PAR).

This Tropical Storm and the aforementioned LPA may enhance the Southwest Monsoon which will bring scattered to widespread moderate to heavy rains over Northern and Central Luzon, especially over the western section, beginning this Friday (10 August). Residents of these areas, especially those living near river channels, in low-lying areas, and in mountainous areas, are advised to take appropriate actions against possible flooding and landslide, coordinate with local disaster risk reduction and management offices, and continue monitoring for updates.

Sea travel remains risky over the western seaboard of Luzon.


Location of eye/center:At 10:00 PM today, the center of Tropical Storm #KardingPh was estimated based on all available data at 1,255 km East of Basco, Batanes (20.1 °N, 134.0 °E)

Strength:Maximum sustained winds of 65 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 80 kph

Forecast Movement:moving East Northeast 10 kph

96 Hour(Sunday evening):1,255 km North Northeast of Basco, Batanes (OUTSIDE PAR)(31.3°N, 125.4°E)


120 Hour(Monday evening):1,735 km North of Basco, Batanes (OUTSIDE PAR)(35.8°N, 125.1°E)


NO TROPICAL CYCLONE WARNING SIGNAL


The public and the disaster risk reduction and management council concerned are advised to take appropriate actions and watch for the next update to be incorporated in the 4 AM Public Weather Forecast and in the next Severe Weather Bulletin to be issued at 11 AM tomorrow.
