Worker files COC for Iloilo governor, vows to address inflation

A 31-year-old worker of a water refilling station has filed his certificate of candidacy (COC) for governor of the province of Iloilo.
Jonry Gargarita of Barangay Lay-ahan, Pototan submitted his COC before the Commission on Elections (Comelec) Provincial Office Thursday morning, Oct. 11.
He is running for the post as an independent candidate.
If elected into office, Gargarita said he would focus on addressing the country’s soaring inflation.
“Tuman na kamahal ang mga balaklon subong. Gani kon magdaog ako bilang gobernador mabulig kita sa pagpanubo sang mga presyo,” he said.
He assured that he would not allow any form of corruption inside the Provincial Capitol.
Gargarita will face Represeantives Ferjenel Biron and Arthur Defensor Jr. in the gubernatorial race.
